# Operations management (logistics)

Operations managers focused on the business layer support operational leadership in a variety of divisions and teams — from Finance to IT, Business Development, and Partner Success. They develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.

To grow in this framework it's essential that such managers partner with cross-functional teams in improving the processes, tools, and systems bringing effectiveness and innovation to our operations.

## Progression

In order to progress in our development path and Level Up or Step Up, our Operations team must:

* Meet the criteria of the Level & Step Chart for the [Management Path](/how-we-ensure-peoples-growth/performance/paths/management-path.md). Note that this framework has one level of growth as an exception. After reaching the maximum level and if the criteria for change are met, employees can be allocated in a different framework.
* Demonstrate proficiency in the Supply Chain, and Business Development Realms

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://management.lunr.tech/how-we-ensure-peoples-growth/compensation/mgt-frameworks/operations-management-logistics.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
