# Product Engineering Management

The main focus of our Product engineers is development and product-facing to align product requirements with market demands. That is the reason why they need a strong technical background with hands-on engineering experience. Under the scope of their responsibility, there's also the development of our product definition and position, applications, differentiators, and pricing.

Ensuring growth in this framework translates into creating an innovative product by developing the roadmap to guide it from conception through design and into wide release. Product managers bridge the gap among the different departments involved in successfully bringing our product to market, including R\&D, Software Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, and Partner Success.

## Progression

In order to progress in our development path and Level Up or Step Up, our Product Engineers must:

* Meet the criteria of the Level & Step Chart for [Management Path](/how-we-ensure-peoples-growth/performance/paths/management-path.md)
* Demonstrate proficiency in the Software Engineering, Project Management and Product Management Realms
